Jesus Led Filmmaking, Melbourne

At 40 Stories, we are determined to be Jesus-led in how we capture and communicate the stories he is writing in people’s lives, through excellent, engaging and inspiring story-telling. 

 

Having successfully run Jesus Led Filmmaking (JLFM) in the Solomon Islands in 2023, now for the first time ever in Australia, the 40 Stories Project team are giving filmmakers and media creators the opportunity to gain hands-on training, both in our approach to excellent story telling through filmmaking AND the posture for life which Jesus has led us into.

 

Jesus Led FilmMaking is a practical training experience with limited numbers. You'll learn through a mix of teaching, hands-on learning and small group practice & discussion.

Many people can produce films, or learn good skills from YouTube, but to be Jesus-led puts our skills and stories into the hands of the Good Shepherd, who is able to do "immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." (Ephesians 3:20)

 

It is our hope that the sharing of good news stories about Jesus is multiplied across the nations: raising individuals and teams of Jesus-Led filmmakers who are ready to capture, create and share the stories He is writing in people’s lives, families, communities and nations.

40 Stories Project's model of filmmaking.

In this course, you will learn a new way of filmmaking.

Central to this approach is Jesus' Good Shepherding of us: learning to seek, listen and obey Jesus in all that we do. This then flows into good filmmaking: finding, filming, shaping and sharing the stories Jesus is writing in people's lives.

Who is JLFM for?

Jesus Led Filmmaking is for emerging and experienced filmmakers and media creators who believe Jesus may have called them to place their skills and time more into his hands.

September 23-27  JLFM training

 

NOTE: Monday 23rd is an optional introductory day of training on camera, composition and audio skills. Those with significant experience in these areas can join us from Tuesday 24th for JLFM.

Note for Victorians attending, Friday 27th is a public holiday. 
 

Tuesday 24th evening is a special night of feasting, worship and watching a well made, new, story-based film.

October 12  Celebration night 5-9:30pm (more details to follow)

A family-friendly evening with a good meal, JLFM highlights film, films created by JLFM attendees and commissioning prayers. There will be much to celebrate!

Cost

$95 (inc GST)

The 40 Stories Project team live by faith and we volunteer our time, so the cost for this course reflects our values,  and does not indicate the expertise or quality of the training you will receive. 

 

We also understand that some people may have a sense of calling to follow Jesus with their filmmaking, but do not have the resources to buy expensive equipment or attend expensive training. For these reasons, we make JLFM as accessible as we can. This course is delivered in partnership with CityLife Church.


Note: to further keep costs down, JLFM is BYO lunch (microwave, etc. available, or local cafes).
